Businessman kidnapped In Ogun, Taken To Benin Republic, Two Gunned Down

On Wednesday evening, gunmen stormed Ilara town in Ogun State’s Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, killing two persons and kidnapping Ade Bendel, a well-known businessman.

Around 11 p.m., the attackers allegedly broke into the neighborhood, shooting intermittently to terrorize the locals before capturing their target.

Oba Mutiu Adedimeji, the traditional ruler of Ilara, confirmed the occurrence on Thursday, claiming that the attackers killed two people during the operation and took the victim across the border into the Republic of Benin.

Due to the delicate nature of the situation, a local youth leader who asked to remain anonymous claimed that gunmen had followed a businessman named Ade Bendel to his hotel before starting to shoot randomly.

The youth leader said that a female hotel employee was among the two individuals killed by stray gunshots during the attack.

About 11 p.m. last night, some gunmen abducted Ade Bendel,

he claimed. They started shooting randomly after following him to his motel. According to reports, two individuals were struck by stray gunshots and instantly perished. One of them was a hotel employee who was female.

Several others were hurt as they attempted to escape after hearing the gunfire, according to another local, Ade. The community has been on edge ever since the incident, he continued.
