Operatives of the Kogi State Police Command have arrested a man named Hussain Zubairu for allegedly stabbing to death his pregnant neighbour, Bose Muhammed, over a disagreement. Flavision learnt that Zubairu stabbed the deceased woman with a pair of scissors in the stomach in Idogido community, Okene Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of the state on Monday, March 2nd, 2020.

An eyewitness said that the victim was taken to a hospital in the neighbourhood, where she died later, due to excessive bleeding.

Our correspondents gathered that the deceased and her friend were having a discussion about a lost mobile phone, when the suspect intruded.

We learnt that she cautioned Zubairu not to interfere in their discussion and a heated argument ensued between them. The suspect was then became enraged and attacked the deceased with a pair of scissors.

On that day, the victim and her friend were chatting and he interrupted.

She told him to mind his business and that infuriated him. He removed a pair of scissors he hid in his trousers, stabbed her in the stomach and fled.

The woman lost a lot of blood. She was pronounced dead on getting to the hospital. She was pregnant, but was not living with her husband,

the witness explained.

The suspect who is in his 30s, was later apprehended by detectives from the Okene Police Division, and his victim has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The police spokesman, William Ayah, confirmed the incident. He said the case had already been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation for adequate investigation and prosecution He added that the suspect would be charged to court after the investigation has been completed.
