Ondo Bank Robbery: Community Mourns Dead Victims

Residents of Ile-Oluji, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo are still in shock over the horrific killings of their community members during the bank robbery attacks that involved two banks in the town on Thursday, February 6th, 2020.

There has been paralysis of commercial activities in the ancient community, as many people are still in shock over the killings and have made up their minds to continue to lock up their shops and outlets, because of fear of the robbers.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI, consisting of Ondo, Oyo and Osun states, Bashir Makama, has visited the bank robbery scenes in the community.

The police AIG, who visited the town for on-the-spot assessment of the bank robbery incident condemned the horrific killings of the victims.

He was accompanied by the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie and other high-ranking police officers.

The police boss assured the general public that the police will conduct a thorough investigation of the crime, with the aim of arresting the culprits responsible for the attacks on two commercial banks during which some persons including policemen lost their lives.

To prevent any recurrence of such ugly incident, the AIG, while speaking at the palace of the Jegun of Ile-Oluji Oba Julius Oluwole Adetimehin, solicited for the co-operation of the community via prompt and useful information that could help the police to properly investigate the crime.

Furthermore, the police boss assured the good people in the Zone of adequate security.
