A 20-year-old man, identified as Mr. Isaac Boniface, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl in the Dahwol town, Jos South Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of Plateau State.

The accused, who claimed to be an employee of a mattress manufacturing company, was among the over twenty two (22) suspected criminals paraded at the command’s headquarters in Jos, by the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Isaac Akinmoyede, for various offences on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020.

Boniface, who confessed to raping the minor, told our reporters that he committed the crime because the victim was his friend.

He said,

My name is Isaac Boniface and I live in the same compound with the girl and her mother. Anytime I was going to work or passing by, the girl would greet me and I would greet her back because we are friends.

So, one day, I took her to a corner in the compound and had carnal knowledge of her. The mother later told me to follow her to somewhere and that was how I was arrested by the police.

The CP, who condemned the suspect’s action of, said he and the other suspects would be charged accordingly, upon the conclusion of investigations on their respective cases.
