Bandits Abduct Pregnant Woman, Five Others In FCT

Residents of three communities in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) said they are currently living in fear, since they were invaded by bandits allegedly from Zamfara State.

Our correspondent learnt that the bandits have been terrorizing Kuwa and Shere Koro, Igu villages in recent weeks.

The bandits are reportedly holding six persons hostage, including a pregnant woman who was abducted on Tuesday, April 21st, 2020.

The woman was on her way to a hospital for antenatal care in company of her husband when she was kidnapped while her husband, Mr. Abdulganiyu Salaudeen, was attacked with machete.

They also stole his automated teller machine cards and phone. Mrs. Salauden has not regained her freedom.

An aide to the FCT Senator, Philip Aduda, identified as Alhaji Danjuma Kawu was also reportedly attacked at his residence and robbed.

Kawu confirmed the attack on his home, but declined to give further details.

It was also alleged that the bandits attacked a couple who were fetching firewood on their farm and raped the wife, while the husband managed to escape. The woman was later released.

A source told Flavision that the police had apprehended three suspects, including the bandits’ spiritualist, identified as Alfa Dauda, an informant, Jigo, and his younger brother.

Speaking on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020, a Shere Koro community leader, Alhaji Bala, revealed that the arrested suspects had been transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Guzape, Abuja, for thorough investigation.

The FCT police spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the police were moving towards arresting the perpetrators of the crime.
