Some inmates have reportedly set the Sapele Correctional Service Centre ablaze on Monday, April 27th, 2020 over issues relating to amnesty.

Flavision gathered that the inmates set the Sapele Correctional Centre ablaze, because twenty five (25) prisoners were granted amnesty by the state government, but the authorities have released only three persons so far.

Sources also said that lack of water and food in Sapele Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta State also contributed to the cause of the protest.
