Ravaged Influence Of Rash Criticism On Delta Community: How Sunday Odiaka Saga Began

Sunday Odiaka's mother

  • An Account of Police, Mrakpor And The Umudasi Family

As part of efforts to redeem her public image, the Director General Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor has spoken days after an online report claimed that she assaulted a 68-year-old woman.

In that report, one Sunday Odiaka from Idimu Osigbudu quarters in Ubulu-uku claimed that the DG had beaten his mother mercilessly to coma.

After the post on Facebook, there had been series of reactions within and outside Delta State. Some riposte where from countries outside Africa with largest black population.

The story had been slanted, no newspaperman was able to convince the Ubulu-uku born DG to speak on the matter. She remained balmy until December 31st when she decided to address the press in her private residence located at DBS road, Abuedo quarters, Ubulu-uku, Delta State.

Speaking with newsmen who were eager to get facts, the former House of Representatives member went down memory lane, X-Raying the chronicle of snags with Sunday Odiaka.

In a statement issued on Friday shortly after a news conference, Ada Anioma noted that the respect she exercised towards family and customs of the land made it difficult for her to seek legal redress earlier enough.

The statement reads:

Chairman of NUJ, gentlemen of the press I want to sincerely appreciate you for turning up to hear my own story of the so much publicised merciless beating to coma of a grandmother. I want to put it on record that this issue had been long between myself and one Sunday Odiaka who is supposed to be a cousin of mine. There has been series of attack that was proven to be unnecessary and unfounded. Sometime in July, I was forced to take a step against the attack of Sunday Odiaka not just on me but extended to my siblings and my late father, Hon. Augustine Okeleke Ugbah.

She continued,

Sunday is supposed to be a journalist and my little knowledge of journalism tells me that he is free to have opinion about any issue but I also believe that journalism doesn’t permit a frontal attack for whatever reason other than true journalism of bringing information to the public. The series of attacks over my person by Sunday Odiaka are well documented.

How it all started

According to the DG with the sobriquet Ada Anioma,

After the primaries of 2018, he (Sunday Odiaka) had gone to jubilate. Yes he has right to do that if he feels that I am not qualified for a position. He encouraged Ubulu-uku youths to stop me from coming to town, he told them that since I was defeated at the elections, I no longer have the luxury of office hence the ease of attack; there were series of issues I tried to endure because I am from the Ugbah family.

She explained the relationship between them, “Odiaka and Ugbah are brothers.”

On what would have influenced Sunday’s attitude Ada Anioma said,

When a street was named after my late father who was a Counsellor, a Vice Chairman of the Local Government, retired Headmaster who didn’t have any criminal reason not to merit a street being named after him. Sunday Odiaka went as far as calling my late father all kinds of names, he insisted for weeks on the social media that the name of my late father should be removed from the street he was named after.

Using the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a shield, the former Member of the lower house of parliament said,

I know that by the Nigerian constitution through the Local Government anybody is qualified to go for street naming and once an approval is made with the required fee payment one can have a street named after him,

she said adding that

for Sunday Odiaka, my father was not qualified to have a street named after him. Because we are related I went to the family to report. I wanted the family to help me find out why he will not practice his journalism without a personal attack on me.

Becoming DG

The statement revealed that after Rt, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor was appointed the Director General Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Sunday took his attack a step further,

by the Lord’s doing I was appointed DG of the Capital Territory Development Agency people were happy with what had happened with me. People celebrated what I achieved while in the House of Assembly, everything that God was able to do with me in the community: the general hospital, the tarred roads, the schools etc.

Sunday Odiaka went online to say that the person there before was removed just to pave way for me. The law establishing the Capital Territory clearly has it that a DG expected to spend one tenure. Unfortunately, for Sunday Odiaka he didn’t go through the law establishing the Capital Territory but he came out to condemn the government of Delta State for appointing me. He even said that Delta State government sacrificed the person there in order to please me. He did all that.

When I started to the glory of God doing my bit in the Capital Territory people rejoiced over the cleanliness of the Delta Capital which has remained till date. Sunday Odiaka again came out to say that I was sacrificing the future of the poor in order to make the Capital Territory beautiful. He went further to allege that my predecessor was starved of funds and that I am doing so much because I have so much funds at my disposal. Well, I don’t know how Sunday Odiaka got the budget of Delta State to make comparison between 2015 and 2019 and from 2019 to the present day to know the budget that was bigger and better or to look at the projects and the initiatives of the person that was there before that was killed and my own that was upheld.

Pastor Jude And PDP

Sunday Odiaka also alleged that the free hand that was given to Mrakpor to work was not given to the former DG,

He made all these claims as a journalist in Lagos without being a member of the State excos without being a member of the PDP, without even residing in Delta State. All those allegations where aimed at discrediting what I am doing as a DG.

On why she refused to speak with newsmen before now, the DG said,

I kept returning to the family to say please look at what your son is putting up on social media. I am being forced to react but please do something. I know what is defamation of character, I know what is incitement, I know how to press charges but I come from Ubulu-uku a very strong tradition based community.

She explained that,

you are not allowed to go to the police with any family member without first and foremost reaching number one the immediate family, number two, the extended family, number three, the larger kindred, and number four, the Obi in Council before carrying out any action against any know son or daughter of the land. So I was doing all these on the home front letting everybody to know what I have been experiencing with Sunday Odiaka.

The matter Got to Umudasi and Obi inCouncil

Despite the cultural considerations of the DG, Sunday Odiaka persisted with his attacks against her person and projects,

At a point, he moved a step further on the social media averring that I made efforts to eliminate him and his siblings. He wrote on the social media asking people to thank God that all my efforts to kill him and members his family did not succeed. I felt that I have had enough. Again I moved to the Odiaka family where he comes from, I reported him to the eldest family member who is called our Diokpa. I moved a step forward, I went to the Umudasi, our kindred and reported, I went to Abuedo quarters where we come from and I went to the Obi in Council to report.

At the family front,

I told these people that I tried to endure Sunday Odiaka for the past 6 years but that I will not pretend not to have heard his claim that I attempted to kill members of his family. I explained to them that Sunday Odiaka’s allegations were becoming unbearable. I told our people that I want a platform for Sunday to come and tell the world how I tried to eliminate him, what I was eliminating him and his siblings for. After that, I did a petition to the police. At that point, everybody that I have ever known or yet to meet in my family started calling. All Sunday Odiaka’s family, the siblings of the father, everyone of them placed a call. In the large family, the Diokpa sent for me, everybody was concerned, they said that they have found out the truth. They said that everything I said are all true but that I should look at the family and forget the case. I insisted that I was not going to, the case dragged on for months, eventually, the Obi in Council sent a message that Sunday must be brought from Lagos because he initially refused to come.

What the Obi in Council said

The Obi in Council insisted and the family, the Umudasi, the family of the (Ogbolu’s, the Ugbah’s and the Odiaka’s) told the Odiaka’s that Sunday must appear.

In traditional sence,

In the Umudasi family, when you are asked to appear and you refuse it gets to a stage where your immediate family is separated from the larger family. Nobody enters your family, nobody will have dealings with you. So the Umudasi told Sunday’s father that that was the next thing they are going to do. The father I must say is a very decent man, my uncle, a well mannered gentleman but I must put it on record here without meaning an insult that Sunday Odiaka’s mother is a direct opposite. This can be confirmed by the whole family, the Odiaka family, the Umudasi family and the Abuedo family.

Sunday Odiaka’s mother never showed concern, “when the whole family was speaking against the false accusations and attacks by Sunday. His father was going from place to place, pleading and asking that I should forgive. Not one occasion did Sunday’s mother, the same woman who said that I beat her to coma, not one day did she come out to say Onyemaechi please I am sorry for what my son did. The only person that was running around is the father and the father’s siblings”, Mrakpor revealed.

How the Odiaka’s reacted

One particular day,

the father who is far older than my senior brother (my parents are late, my senior brother stands as the father of our family), Sunday Odiaka’s father went to my immediate elder brother and almost knelt down for him. By our tradition, it is forbidden, A senior cannot kneel down for the junior. So my senior brother pulled him up immediately and said no brother Chambers you cannot kneel down for me but because of this your humility, realising that your son has been causing problems, I am going to beg my sister. So my senior brother came to me and said please if for nothing, for the sake of Chambers (Sunday Odiaka’s father’s nick name), his real name is Amaechi Odiaka. My senior brother said for the sake of Chambers who is a free minded person please forgive Sunday.

After the plea, “I still hadn’t made up my mind to forgive him because I feel that it is better through the constituted authorities that I put an end to Sunday’s attack. One day, I came for a wedding in Ubulu-uku, one of the Ugbah’s daughters was wedding, it was a heavy rainy day and painfully, Chambers came out in the rain when I was coming out of my car with an umbrella. He entered the rain, approached me and said “Amaechi my name sake I cannot kneel down for you but I beg you in the name of God, “the moment I saw him in that rain tears came out of my eyes and I said brother Chambers, please stand up this matter is ended today because of you.”

After his father entered the rain to plead for Sunday,

I went to everywhere that I had pressed charges against him and I told them that I am dropping the charges. That was how I dropped the charges. In dropping the charges, Sunday Odiaka on Tuesday the 31st of July 2020 sent me a text that I am going to read to the public today: “Aunty Ononwu, I have been told by my father that you have forgiven me and also withdrawn my case before the Obi in Council. I sincerely thank you.

Later that day, at about 10 pm Sunday Odiaka sent another message of appreciation to the DG,

Aunty Ononwu, to be honest for the first time in months, my dad and I are experiencing a great relief as a result of the fact that you have forgiven me. Thank you ma. Already I have secured a 4 day leave from work and to be frank that action have kept me at the verge of losing my job but with this good news from you, I will decline from the process. May God bless you.

But that repentance appeared temporary,

I thought that that was the end of the matter considering his message. Remember that I had wanted to legally see the matter to conclusion but his father’s plea coupled with Sunday Odiaka’s text messages revealing how himself and his father had sleepless nights over my determination to pursue a case against him. How he was now relieved. How he almost lost his job because he had to travel from Lagos to stand before the Obi in Council in Delta and other places that I had sued him to.

After that,

the next thing was that my younger brother, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike who is about 50, a graduate of over twenty something years from Edo State University where he read public administration, who is married with a family, doesn’t have any criminal case or issue against him appeared to contest for the Local Government election. The only crime that he commited according to Sunday Odiaka is that he is related to me by blood.

Seeing that Pastor Jude want to content,

to my greatest surprise, the same Sunday Odiaka who had appealed and all the family begged that he wasn’t going to attack me again came back to the same act. Mind you, I am not saying that he doesn’t not have the right to practice journalism. But I know defamation. I know incitement. I know true journalism. Sunday from nowhere came out. He did not just attack Jude, Sunday came out and called me all kinds of unprintable names.

When Pastor Jude came into the matter

On the basis for attacking DG over Pastor Jude’s ambition, the statement noted that Sunday believes that Mrakpor praccticed impunity,

He called on Aniocha South people to rise up against me for what he termed imposition and impunity. I am of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP before the date of the primaries formed the electoral college in all the twenty five Local Governments in the State and the names of the members of the electoral college were made public so that contestants can know them. The mold of the election was that the electoral college will sign for the person they prefer. At the end of the day the person that has more of the signatories becomes the candidate of the Local Government for that election. Before that, there were series of meetings including the clan meeting, the Ubulu clan meeting that was called at Ubulu unor in chief Agbabu’s place.

In that meeting,

the PDP had one person from Ubulu okiti that was vying for the same position, two persons from Ubulu unor and three persons from Ubulu-uku. At the clan meeting, the party decided that Ubulu unor should bring out one out of the two, Ubulu-uku should bring out one out of the three. And the mold of bringing out is that the exco members should put the names of the aspirants in a tabloid and send to the excos and the leaders of the ward for them to tick the person that they are supporting.

Clarifying the process that produced Pastor Jude, the statement said that,

After the Ubulu clan meeting, the list was taken round the whole exco members of ward 4 and ward 5 that make up Ubulu-uku and out of the three persons, they signed for the person they wanted. The person that had the highest number was Jude Chukwunwike thereafter, the signatories, the LGA party Chairman reported officially that in Ubulu-uku Jude had the highest number.

From Ubulu unor

one Onochie had the highest number. Ubulu okiti had only one person. So this three final persons had their names prepared in a sheet of paper: Jude Chukwunwike from Ubulu-uku, Onochie from Ubulu unor and Pius from Ubulu okiti was taken to the twenty three electoral college members who were asked to sign for whoever they wanted.

The three names were taken round. The electoral college was made up of people from Nsukwa clan, Ubulu clan and Ogwashi clan, the council Chairman, the Honourable member representing the Local Government and private businessmen. Each member of the electoral college signed for who he wanted and at the end of the day my younger brother, Pastor Jude Chukwunwike had the highest number of signatories,

the statement explained.

The leader of the clan, Chief Agbabu thereafter wrote a covering letter attached to the signatories indicating that Jude is the PDP candidate. Chief Agbabu signed and the LGA party Chairman signed and the name was submitted.

This obviously didn’t go well with Sunday Odiaka who left Lagos, came into Ubulu-uku to lead riot to the government house on the 22nd and 23rd when he learnt that the DG was at her private residence in Ubulu-uku,

he began inciting the youths from Ubulu-uku and the Local Government that they should rise up against me, rise up against impunity, rise up against imposition.

The statement disclosed how the riots disturbed the DG,

I had two options: the first one is for me to move to the police and get Sunday Odiaka arrested. The second option is to go to the family and say please what is happening again. You came to plead over different accusations. You later found that Sunday was attacking me for no just reasons. All the efforts I made for redress you stopped me and now Sunday is threatening my life by calling on the youths of Aniocha South to rise up against me.

I thought about the two options considering the fact that in Ubulu-uku no man no matter how rich cannot be bigger than the community. I considered that any decision I made will affect a lot of things. I knew that in the community the elders may not be rich but when they reach a conclusion on a matter nobody changes it.

Regarding the family,

I tried everything possible to ensure that I don’t offend or go against the elders and custom of the land because if I had gone contrary to the customs the elders can tell everyone in this community not to enter my house and no Ubulu-uku person will dare enter. So I decided I wasn’t going to get Sunday arrested, I chose the other option of going to the family to find out why their son is attacking me again after agreeing to turn a new leaf.

I went to his family to know why Sunday Odiaka on the 22nd of December led a riot to the government house, recorded video and posted same on his Facebook page. I wanted to know why he was calling viewers to go watch video of the riot against me. I wanted his family to ask him why he planed mobilising the same riot on the 23rd to my house. That’s was the reason I visited their house.

Recall that on December 2020, Ubulu-uku as an agrarian town reached its ire when a group of rioters stormed Issele-uku junction where bill boards of Pastor Jude Chukwunwike’s election and other landmark structures were destroyed.

The unfortunate side of the visit

Speaking with newsmen, the DG said that her visit to Sunday Odiaka’s family house was marred by his father’s absence,

Unfortunately, the father who would have spoken in words that would have calmed me down was not at home. If Sunday Odiaka’s father was at home that day, he would have said something like Amaechi my name sake, I am sure that I cannot beg you on this one. What is it that I can do to help the matter. But I meant Sunday’s mother who everybody refers to as on grandmother of 68.

I am not a baby and based on traditional settings between 55 and 66 years is age grade, between 60 and 70 is age grade. So all those playing to the gallery saying that a 68 year old woman is old enough to give birth to me are under unfounded exaggeration. Sunday Odiaka is the first son of the supposed grandmother and I was not dealing with a grandmother’s son; www.hisstory.com reported that I went to look for one Nnamdi a grandson of one grandmother and I beat the grandmother to coma.

More findings showed that Sunday Odiaka’s mother is in her 60s while Rt Hon Mrakpor is in her 50s. They are of the same age grade.

On Sunday Odiaka’s planned riot,

If Sunday Odiaka could stage a riot at government house where armed securities are stationed and was bold enough to post it online, calling for more riot, I would have been most stupid to sit down in my house to pretend that all is well.

As a member of government, I have the right to call out police to defend me if my place is invaded. If I had kept quiet without going to tell the family to call their child to order, Sunday Odiaka would have succeed in carrying out the riot he had planned on the 23rd which would had forced me to call out the police in self defence. If that had happened the community would blame me. The community would say that at my age and position that I should know that if there was a settlement before the best thing to do was to go back to the family and say your child has started again.

And as a well brought up Ubulu-uku woman that was what I did. I went to their house. There was never a time I said that I didn’t go to their house and what came out of the mother’s mouth was a curse.

Through out the years that Sunday was misbehaving, there was never a day that this now celebrated 68 year old grandmother condemn or feel sorry for his actions. The only time that I am hearing from the woman is this celebrated beating to coma that can only be proven by herself, the law of the land and the almighty God.

After the mother’s negative reaction,

I left that place and decided to visit the divisional police at Ubulu-uku where I told the DO that my life is in danger. That one Sunday Odiaka is calling out the youths to riot against me. In my statement I informed the station about the riot Sunday Odiaka led to government house, Asaba on the 22nd of December.

Considering the petition at the station,

the DO and one other police officer followed me to Sunday Odiaka’s family house. We saw his mother. Remember that I left their house before going to the police station and that was the woman that they said that I had beaten to coma. The woman came out ( two hours after the supposed beating to coma), met the policeman and the policeman greeted her warmly.

Trouble flamed when,

Police told her that they need to speak with her son Sunday Odiaka who they explained needs to follow them to the station.

The woman told the police that she will follow them, that her son is not around. But the police refused to let her go with them, “It’s your son we want”,

the police insisted according the document made public on the 31st of December 2020 during a press conference.

Rt. Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, DG Capital Territory Development Agency, speaking with newsmen revealed that

The police explained to Sunday Odiaka’s mother that the reason they want him at the station was because they do not want crisis in the town during the festive season. But the woman fumed up “shouting Amaechi come and carry me. It is me that you should carry. Sunday is not here.”

Upon knowing that culprit was not in, the policeman demanded for his phone number but his mother refused,

When the woman started abusing the police and refused to give out his son’s phone number, I said DO I have the number. So I gave the number to the police officer who immediately called Sunday Odiaka inviting him to the station.

When called,

Sunday told the police officer that he has nothing to say but that his lawyer would come to the station to answer him. The police told him to please bring his lawyer fast because the police will not tolerate incitement or anything that would cause problem in the community.

And,

I left with the police officer. It was Sunday’s mother that addressed the police officer. I was shocked to see photos making the rounds on social media that the same woman was lying down on a king size bed supposedly beaten to coma by me. Later the story changed that she was slapped and beaten to coma by my younger brother, another report said that there was an audio recording where she was shouting Jude you slapped me.

Sunday Odiaka had said that he was in that house when the police came and that he did the recorded audio. He hinted that he saw his mother beaten to coma.

Reacting to that audio recording, Rt Hon. Mrakpor in a satirical attitude asked

how can a young man who led riot to government house be so inhuman to hide inside the room and watch his mother beaten to coma? Mrakpor wondered how possible it was for a Sunday who claims to be a journalist to be in a room, record an audio without a video of his mother being mercilessly beaten. Since he was hiding at a very secured place, it should have been easy for him to video the incidence,

the DG added.

Speaking further, the Ada Anioma said that anything that has to do with a politician is usually blown out of proportion,

In a male dominated society like the one we are in, a female voice like my own will be termed impunity. They see it as an impunity that I can still speak. I had wanted to just ignore everybody and take legal action but because of the concern of well meaning citizens who persistently called me on the issue, I decided to speak out

With pain in her voice, the fair complexioned DG behind the remarkable beautification of Asaba said,

It’s time to seek legal redress. I also have a name to protect. I have pleased my family over the years, coming to tell them the tale of Sunday. I have respected them and appreciate the wonderful role of the Odiakas, Umudasi and the Obi in Council.

The Umudasi, according to a statement which was made available to newsmen were insulted when they tried reaching Sunday Odiaka on the phone. The Odiaka family had also done what they considered the best in ensuring that the issue doesn’t go public. They were series of family meetings aimed at reprimanding Sunday Odiaka but their efforts met a deaf ear.

Sunday had in one the occasions abused an uncle by name Nwaeke Odiaka who was assigned by the family to call him. He challenged the sexagenarian for daring to talk to him,

this was tabled in another family meeting.

Some of the names Sunday Odiaka had called Rt Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor include Jezebel and sole administrator of Aniocha politics.

In Mrakpor’s defence one of the top politicians from Ubulu unor who craved anonymity said that there is nothing wrong with having a politician’s relative in government, he noted that so long as they are qualified and fit for a position they should be given a chance to contest like every other Nigerian.

The public servant in his mid 60s said, “Even in advanced democracy like is being practised in the US, relatives of someone in power are brought into government through democratic channels. So if Jude is more qualified when compared with other contestants vying for the office of the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South we should not be sentimental, there is no sense in attempting to stop him because his elder sister is a DG. Let’s ensure that the best wins”, the chieftain said tactfully.

In an Facebook platform, Anioma Voice, a concerned citizen identified as Utomi Joseph demanded that Sunday Odiaka should answer seven pertinent questions to validate the allegations that his mother was beaten to coma.

Sunday Odiaka’s Further Explanation

Sunday Odiaka had earlier written on the Anioma Voice explaining why readers must sympathise with his family.

His post reads: “Dear Anioma Voice. I would have sent this to your mail but for the sake of all truth-driven stakeholders and posterity, let me go public. Let me quickly remind you that the ugly incident took place on December 26. Let me also briefly go beyond dropping the captions to the attached pictures. My mother, please recheck her appearance as she stands, is recovering from illness that almost claimed her precious life. She’s equally currently battling rheumatism. Now, I came out of hiding and directly took that picture (standing) when she was finally rescued by some persons who heard her heart-tearing cry for help. We eventually escaped from home and as we moved, she developed very high blood pressure. We quickly rushed to an undisclosed hospital and to the glory of God, the staff succeeded in saving the situation. I am here to simply ask you to join my father, siblings and I in thanking God, the only giver of life and very long lasting powers. We are gradually coming out of the hell created by someone who is not greater than God. We’ll also live, to fully tell and archive the ugly stories for today and tomorrow. Thank you.”

The 7 Questions

In seeking for clarification Utomi Joseph replied him with the caption questions begging for answer.

  1. What happened before December 26, 2020?
  2. After this deep and supposedly sincere apology then follows series of attacks on the person of Ada Anioma…
  3. According to Sunday Odiaka, the mother has been very sick, yet he was hiding in the same house with the mother where he could supposedly see Mrs. Mrakpor beat her “mercilessly to a coma” until outsiders heard “her heart tearing cry for help” and came for the mother’s rescue. How could a young man who led a protest to Government House with a large number of security officers usually stationed at the Gate to Government House, sit back and record an audio of his mother’s voice while she was allegedly being “beaten to coma” by Hon. Mrakpor, – Ada Anioma?
  4. How was it that Sunday Odiaka, an eyewitness who said he was right there, hiding in one room, while they were beating his mother, resuscitate her soon after Hon. Mrakpor left, and took a photoshoot of her standing, even posting same?
  5. How was it that Ada Anioma who came to Sunday’s house with police officers from Ubulu-Uku Divisional Police Station where she had made a formal report of Sunday Odiaka mobilising youths in the community to attack her on his claims of political imposition and impunity, still met Sunday’s mother at home, where she walked up to meet the police officers at the door and was standing to take questions from the police officers on the whereabouts of Sunday, whose phone number provided by Rt. Hon. Mrakpor, when the mother bluntly refused and rained abuses on the police officers . Even when Sunday’s phone number was called by the police, he replied that he will report to the station with his lawyers. In all these, there was no cry of merciless beating and coma. At what point then did Sunday’s mother fall into coma?
  6. Where is this undisclosed hospital where she was rushed to and revived after taking photoshoot and attending to the police officers from the station where Rt. Hon. Mrakpor reported the matter. These questions are pertinent because the people who heard about the “merciless beating and coma” including the police, checked the hospitals around even up to the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba but she was no where to be found. Who is the medical doctor who revived and certified her fit to return home, as he was found in her home the following day. And can this medical report of this doctor be certified by the Nigerian Medical Association?
  7. Can Sunday Odiaka furnish the public with names of these powerful eyewitnesses who could rescue his mother after hearing her heart tearing cry, according to Sunday, while himself who could confront the armed security officers at the Government House Gate, call out the youths of Aniocha South for riot, and have severally confronted Ada Anioma, could remain in hiding.
  8. These seven questions, I will like Sunday Odiaka, the editors of www.thestory.com and the ring leaders of Ubulu-Uku riots to answer,

    Joseph queried.

    More Reactions from the family

In uttermost shock a relative from the Odiaka family debunked the claim of beating to coma.

That guy is stupid. Why did he post that kind of thing when he is fully aware that it’s all lies meant to misled the people.

That viral photograph telling the world that Hon. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor and her brother went to beat up a grandmother is all lies meant to malign the character of the DG. I can confirm it that that picture was taken six years ago when Sunday Odiaka’s mother fell ill and was hospitalised,

the source said under conditions of anonymity.
