The Nigerian Army is expanding its Operation Crocodile Smile VI to include a cyber warfare against negative propaganda.

The operation is scheduled to start October 20 and end December 31.

The expansion of the operation comes amidst growing prosecution of the #ENDSARS movement on social media, with dedicated hashtags, websites and apps.

Operation Crocodile Smile VI is designed to

identify, track and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace,

announced Colonel Sagir Musa, acting director of Army public relations.

It is the first-ever cyberwarfare exercise in the history of African armed forces.

The exercise will include component to identify Boko Haram terrorists fleeing from the north east and other parts of the country as a result of ongoing operations in the various theatres of operations in the northeast, north central and north west.

The Nigerian Army, once again, reassures all well-meaning Nigerians of its commitment to the sustenance of peace and security in Nigeria and urges members of the public for their support and understanding throughout the period of the exercise,
